Professor Tom Sammons is currently the director of the School of Architecture and Design. He possesses 30 years of teaching experience with over 32 years of experience with his part-time professional practice. He is Director of the Community Design Workshop (CDW), which has has completed 87 projects in its tenure, and the total amount of grants has exceeded $3 million.
Professor Sammons was awarded a Fulbright Hays Fellowship for study in China in 2004, named Distinguished Professor for the University of Louisiana at Lafayette in 2005 and is Chairman of Campus Planning Committee. He also holds the Contractors Educational Trust Fund/BORSF Professor in Art and Architecture Chair.
