In the School of Architecture and Design, we aren't in an academic bubble. We know that you need a technical, professional, and comprehensive education that real-world design work requires. We know that design is inherently interdisciplinary, so our programs are designed to give you a broad range of skills and knowledge.
Here, we focus on designing and researching for a reason, with an emphasis on sustainability and functional beauty. We want you to experience the challenge of creating fashion pieces from found objects; designing an urban master plan for cities in the region; and completing a LEED-certified develop-design-build project.
We work closely with a number of organizations in Acadiana and send our students across the country and the world to study and compete, with their work showcased in museum and exhibits regularly. Our faculty are world-renowned and are here to help you — where else can you consult with an original Mustang designer and a Rome Prize winner in the same building?
