Our week long program allows you to be immersed in a college experience that includes on-campus dorm rooms, meals, field trips to professional design firms, lectures, and projects introducing you to the world of design. Options for overnight or day camp.
A Saturday morning introductory day which includes a tour of our studios and facilities in Fletcher Hall, a presentation of students work, and a mini-project conducted by our faculty to give you a taste of what it is like to major in design. Parents are also welcome and will have their own tour and discussion with our director about why the SOAD is the right place for your graduating senior.
Preview Day activities include an academic and extracurricular fair, information sessions on scholarships, TOPS, financial aid, honors, and housing, walking tours and bus tours of campus, and a chance to preview our academic colleges and majors and meet with faculty.
The Majors Fair is an event for current UL Lafayette students who may be on the fence about their major to explore all of the different majors and minors the University has to offer.
The Career Fair is held each fall and spring semester. Local, state, national and international employers have regularly utilized these events to recruit UL Lafayette students and alumni.
The Lafayette Science Museum has a permanent exhibition of student work from the School of Architecture and Design. Check it out anytime the museum is open. Also, come visit our booth during the Lafayette Science Museum's annual Steampunk and Makers Fair which showcases and celebrates science, education, technology, art, and mathematics in downtown Lafayette.
