What can I do with an interior design degree?
Interior designers enjoy using their creativity, knowledge, and research skills, as well as their desire to be socially accountable, globally aware, and responsible to the environment, by designing a wide range of interior spaces in structures that include hospitals, medical offices, hotels, restaurants, nightclubs, shopping centers, stores, showrooms, museums, health clubs, spas, libraries, and residences. In addition to specifying interior furnishings, finishes and equipment, designers are also attentive to the indoor environmental quality, particularly in the areas of acoustics, lighting, and thermal comfort. Practicing interior designers can specialize in areas such as residential, healthcare, hospitality, historical preservation or adaptive re-use, etc. ... the list is endless. Interior designers may seek employment within architectural or interior design firms, in a specialized design practice, or they can open their of businesses. Interior design professionals also find employment in allied occupations such as facilities management, design consultant or manufacturers’ representatives for design products and materials.
