Visiting Assistant Professor Earns Gold in Muse International Design Awards

Visiting Assistant professor in the UL School of Architecture and Design, Annika Miller, was recently awarded Gold in the Accessories category from Muse International Design Awards for her 720º shoulder bag design.

Inspired by the development of wooden textiles, 720° bag celebrates the toughness of its user by juxtaposing the soft felt interior with the hard wooden exterior. Base layer is constructed of hand-sewn leather triangles allowing the unobstructed, ever-changing 3-dimensional transformation of the wooden surface. The dark grey interior has a durable single compartment with magnetic closure. 720° is the culmination of exploration through materiality, connections, durability, and usability.
