M.Arch Student Travels to Present at Cross-Institution Symposium

Katie LeLeaux, Master of Architecture Student, was selected by the faculty to represent the Program at CriticalMASS at the College of Arts + Architecture at UNC Charlotte. CriticalMASS is an annual graduate thesis symposium for cross-institution student presentations, which explore architectural ideas and issues. LeLeaux presented her work to distinguished critics and graduate-level peers from schools of architecture across the country.

LeLeaux’s Master’s Project, Active Individualization that Rehabilitates, completed in Fall 2016, focused on the homeless in downtown Lafayette through the adaptive reuse of the Federal Courthouse building on Jefferson Street. In December, LeLeaux was recognized as the recipient of the Master of Architecture Program’s highest honor, the David William’s Award for her Master’s Project.
