Research
The University actively supports the advancement of knowledge
through research. Faculty in the School of Architecture
and Design work with faculty from across the University
in the University’s Center for Culture and Eco-Tourism,
a designated Center of Excellence by the State of Louisiana.
The faculty engages the issues of the built environment
focusing on planning, community development, and focusing
through research sponsored by the Community Design Workshop.
The Building Institute provides a hands-on understanding
of building construction and is dedicated to developing
relationships with the community, profession, and industry.
The faculty focus on preservation through research sponsored
by the Historic American Building Survey. Faculty members
actively engage in research of design education, architectural
theory, architectural technology, digital technology, development,
historic preservation, and architectural practice.
