Third Year Architecture's Annual Texas Pilgrammage

Professor Gjertson's and LaSala's Third year Architecture Studio visited architectural points of interest in Houston, Dallas, and Ft. Worth, Texas over Spring Break. Sixteen students and three faculty, including visiting Chinese Professor Dr. Liu, toured and studied over twenty award-winning museums, performance halls, and mixed-use facilities. The students are working to design their own facilities and field research is an essential part of their design process. Some of the buildings visited include: Kimbell Museum, Ft. Worth Contemporary Museum, Nasher Sculpture Museum, Meyerson Symphony Hall, Wyly Theatre, Winspear Opera House, and the de Menil Museum. Many of these museums are regarded as the best in the world. The students returned energized and ready for a successful completion to their semester.
