Events
The School of Architecture and Design
fosters a variety of experiences necessary for a university
education by providing students special opportunities.
Urban study or study abroad is strongly encouraged as
it exposes students to urban conditions and cultural landscapes
through domestic and international travel. Students are
able to attend the University’s France program centered
in Paris, the Italy program centered in Florence, the
Mexico program centered in Mexico City, or the building
abroad program through the International Design Clinic.
In addition to international travel, each studio year
has established annual trips to study the architecture
and the built environment.
The School of Architecture and Design has an annual lecture
series that culminates each spring in Design Week. At
the conclusion of each academic year the School of Architecture
hosts its annual Awards Ceremony and Thesis Exhibition
opening where faculty recognize the achievements of their
students’ academic and studio design work. Students
are actively involved in student chapters of the American
Institute of Architecture Students, the Tau Sigma Delta
Society and the Student Government Association.
